User guide for the Flightdemy A320 FAP Trainer: kiosk access, the hardware addon, every configuration option explained, and troubleshooting.
Pre-recorded Announcements (ANNs)
In this section you can adjust the settings for the Pre-recorded Announcements system. Two configuration options are available:
Pre-recorded Announcements
When this option is enabled, the Audio page will show the Pre-recorded Announcements module. If left disabled, the module will not be displayed.

IPRAM Fault
When you select this option, the simulated ejection of an IPRAM card is triggered, disabling the Pre-recorded Announcements. If you disable this setting, the system starts a simulated boot process, which leaves the Pre-recorded Announcements module temporarily unavailable.

Doors and Slides
This section lets you change the state of the doors and slides by selecting the option you prefer.
Operation
In the menu you will find a small airplane icon with a drop-down menu for each door, including the emergency exits.

To change the state, click the drop-down menu and select the state you need. The options include open, closed with the slide disarmed, or closed with the slide armed.

Temperature
The temperature section has the same options you will find in the real aircraft, and does not allow the cabin crew to adjust the temperature.
Faults
When you activate one of the fault options, a blue box appears on the FAP showing the selected error.

Faults
This section offers a wider range of fault options compared to other sections. All activated faults generate messages in the message box, which is found on the Water and Waste page. Some faults can also trigger additional alerts on the FAP.

Smoke Alerts
In the Smoke Alerts section you will find multiple options to modify the cabin sensor settings and simulate alerts.
The first option lets you adjust the cabin sensor configuration in places where location data is not available.

You can also introduce faults for specific sensors in each lavatory for focused testing.

Accessing the FAP Trainer and kiosk mode
There are two ways to open the simulator. From your account, by opening My Apps and pressing Open next to the FAP Trainer A320; this is the usual way to test and configure. For the computer installed in your simulator there is kiosk mode, which opens the FAP without asking for a login.
Kiosk mode uses a personal link of the form flightdemy.com/fap/XXXX. You will find it in the configuration panel, Hardware tab, as the Screen controller URL: copy it and open it in the simulator computer browser. It is best to pin it as the start page or a shortcut.
The first-browser rule
For security, the link binds to the first computer that opens it. From that moment only that computer can use it: any other browser opening the link will see a message that the code is already bound. This way, even if someone knows your link, they cannot enter your simulator.
If you need to change the simulator computer, first unbind the current one from the Hardware tab and open the link again on the correct computer. If you suspect someone else saw your link, use Regenerate to create a new code and invalidate the previous one completely.
The screen controller URL is copied from the Hardware tab and binds to the first computer that opens it.
Fullscreen and startup
With automatic fullscreen enabled, the browser goes fullscreen on the first tap on the screen. No browser can do this without that first user gesture, so an initial tap is always required.
The start overlay shows a Start screen that unlocks audio and fullscreen. If you disable it, the simulator will try to start directly; test it on your computer, because some browsers block audio without a prior gesture.
The Hardware Addon
The Hardware Addon is an extension of your FAP Trainer license that connects the simulator to your physical cabin. Without the addon, the FAP works fully on screen; with the addon, the FAP controls and receives data from your real switches, lights and mechanisms.
The two pieces of the system
The system is made of two pieces that bind independently. The screen controller is the browser of the computer that displays the FAP: it is the face of the system and binds via the kiosk URL from the previous article. The controller is a board (Arduino or compatible) wired to your hardware: inputs for switches such as seat belts or doors, outputs for LEDs and annunciators, PWM outputs for cabin lighting, and commands for accessories such as the smoke machines.

What it adds in practice
With the hardware connected, the physical seat belts switch in the cockpit updates the FAP screen instantly, emergency lights and annunciators light up on your physical panel, doors with sensors are reflected on the doors screen, and the FAP can actuate mechanisms such as the smoke machines or the electrical fault.
Network requirements
The controller and the screen controller computer must be on the same local network, that is, on the same router. The controller also needs internet access to validate the license and send its periodic pings. How to pair both pieces is covered in the configuration articles below.
Configuration: General
Open the configuration panel from My Apps, pressing Configure next to the FAP Trainer app. All changes are saved with the Save configuration button and apply the next time the simulator loads.
The General tab controls which screen elements are shown, and each toggle has a live preview on the right showing the result.
Side Panels (AIP + ACP)
Shows or hides the two FAP side panels. The AIP (Attendant Indication Panel) contains the annunciator lights for calls and alerts, and the ACP (Area Call Panel) is the area call panel with its lights and buttons. If your simulator screen is small, you can hide them to gain center space.
Sub-panel (bottom row)
This is the row of emergency buttons under the FAP screen: EMER (emergency lights), LIGHTS MAIN, LAV MAINT, EVAC (evacuation command) and SMOKE RESET. Hide it if your physical cabin already has these controls in hardware.
Configuration Sidebar
This is the left sidebar with quick controls for audio, doors, faults, temperature and calls. The logo and back button always remain visible even when you hide it.
The General tab shows a live preview of the FAP panels.
Configuration: Hardware — Screen Controller
The Screen controller card in the Hardware tab defines how the computer displaying the FAP behaves in kiosk mode.
Screen controller URL
This is the login-free access link. Use Copy to move it to the simulator computer and Open to test it. The Unbind button releases the link from the current computer: it keeps working, but becomes free for the next browser that opens it. The Regenerate button creates a new code and invalidates the previous link and any bound computer; use it only if you suspect someone else knows your link.
Automatic fullscreen
When enabled, the browser goes fullscreen on the first tap on the screen. It cannot activate without any tap: this is a browser restriction, not a simulator limitation.
Start overlay
When enabled, the kiosk boots into a Start screen: the user taps once, which unlocks audio and fullscreen. If you disable it, the simulator tries to start directly; test it on your computer, because some browsers block audio without a prior gesture.
Debug logs
When enabled, the controller sends diagnostic messages to the server and to its Serial port. Leave it on if Flightdemy asks you to diagnose something; in normal use you can disable it to reduce traffic.
Initial connection timeout
This is the maximum wait time, in milliseconds, for the first response from the controller before showing the connection-lost notice. The default value is 1500 and the range is 500 to 10000. If your network is slow or busy, raise it to 3000 or 5000.
License grace period
Extra time, in seconds, that the controller keeps working if the license or addon becomes inactive, for example during a renewal. This is an internal Flightdemy setting and is only visible to administrators.

Configuration: Hardware — Controller
The Controller card manages the physical board that connects the FAP to your cabin hardware.
Pairing the controller
Power on the controller: on boot it shows a token on its display or Serial port. Paste it into the Token field and press Pair. The device name updates automatically when it sends its first ping.
Once paired you will see its metrics: status (active, pending or revoked), last contact, IP address and firmware version. Remove pairing revokes the device: it will stop working and you will need to pair a new one.
Long-poll timeout
When there is nothing new to report, the controller holds one waiting request open until this limit, in milliseconds, and answers 204 No Content. The default value is 30000 and the range is 5000 to 120000. A higher value reduces the number of requests; a lower value detects changes slightly sooner when reconnecting. For normal use, leave the default.
Ping interval
How often, in seconds, the controller tells the server it is alive. This is an internal Flightdemy setting, only visible to administrators; do not change it unless instructed.
Offline threshold
If the controller sends no ping within this time, in seconds, the server considers it disconnected. The default value is 300 (5 minutes). If your controller shows as disconnected on a good connection, check its internet access before touching this value.
Pulses and blinks
These four parameters, all in milliseconds, adjust the physical behavior of the alerts. The oxygen mask pulse is how long the solenoid stays active: it must be short to avoid forcing the mechanism. The smoke detection, CABIN PRESS and emergency call blinks define the rate of each alert when active.
Cabin lights
The BRT, DIM 1 and DIM 2 levels are the intensity of each lighting level as a percentage, from 0 to 100; the controller converts it to PWM for your LED strips. The transition speed is the time, in milliseconds, the light takes to fade between levels when switching BRT or DIM.
Controller logs
At the bottom you can see the latest received events, with date, IP and payload, and open the full history with date filters. This is the first diagnostic tool when something does not respond.

The remaining tabs customize the simulator content and appearance.
Area Call Panel (ACP)
Choose the configuration of the area call panel shown on the side, if you enabled the ACP in General. The available options depend on the simulator version.
Cabin Layout
Select the cabin layout, that is, the seat and class arrangement, used by the cabin status screen.
Announcements
Upload your own audio files for cabin announcements. Organize them in folders: each folder appears as a category in the FAP. Recommended formats are MP3 or WAV.
Music
Upload the background music tracks that play in the FAP audio simulation, also organized by folders.
Splash
Set your company logo for the kiosk start screen. Use a PNG or JPG with a transparent or brand-colored background.
Remember to press Save configuration after any change in these tabs.
The content tabs let you upload your announcements, your music and your company logo.
Troubleshooting
These are the most common situations and how to solve them.
"This code does not belong to your account"
You are opening the kiosk link of another license, or you are not logged in with the license owner account. Always use the URL shown in your own configuration panel, Hardware tab.
The link opened on the wrong computer
The link bound to the first computer that opened it. Open the Hardware tab, Screen controller card, press Unbind and open the link again on the correct computer. If you also suspect someone else saw the link, use Regenerate to invalidate it completely.
The controller shows as disconnected
Check that the controller has power and internet access, on the same local network as the FAP computer. Open the Controller logs: if there are no recent pings, restart the device. Also verify it was not revoked.
Commands do not reach the hardware
Enable Debug logs and repeat the action. If the event appears in the logs, the problem is the controller wiring or pin; if it does not appear, the problem is communication between the FAP and the controller. Check that the controller IP is on the same local network as the FAP computer.
I made changes and nothing looks different
Press Save configuration and reload the simulator with a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R). The kiosk browser may keep the previous version cached.
No audio
In kiosk mode the browser requires a first user gesture to enable audio: tap the screen once, or use the start overlay. Also check the computer volume.
